Song Of The Day:
"Starsailor - Way To Fall"
Wow, today is really dark and windy, so - let's talk about death, shall we ?!
I bet it happened to everyone before, you watch a TV show for some time, the characters grow on you, they almost become a part of your life. They can give you comfort and they make you laugh and sometimes angry. And then he/she dies. I can totally understand that it's powerful drama from the writer's perspective, but I'll approach it from the other side - the audience member.
It's a pretty a shitty feeling because it makes me feel like a sociopath.
The more realistic the situation, the more you're sucked in. And it hurts you more than your own grandmother's death. Weird. The 2 saddest things I watched recently.
* The L Word: "Losing The Light" (plus "40 Miles From The Sun" by Bush afterwards).
* Buffy - The Vampire Slayer: "The Body"
Quote Of The Day:
I don't understand how this all happens. How we go through this. I mean, I knew her, and then she's, there's just a body, and I don't understand why she just can't get back in it and not be dead anymore. It's stupid. It's mortal and stupid. And, and Xander's crying and not talking, and, and I was having fruit punch, and I thought, well, Joyce will never have any more fruit punch ever, and she'll never have eggs, or yawn or brush her hair, not ever, and no one will explain to me why. ('Buffy: The Vampire Slayer - The Body')
