Song Of The Day:
Born To Darkness

Quote Of The Day:
'Tis now the very witching time of night,
When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out
Contagion to this world. (William Shakespeare)

Song of the day:
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Y-Control

I don't like their 'we're big bad rock'n'roll stars-attitude' but this song is pretty decent (but still - not very rocky).

Quote Of The Day:
When I am dead, I hope it may be said: His sins were scarlet, but his books were read. (Hilaire Belloc)

Song of the day:
Lamb - Gabriel

Lyrics: [I can fly, But I want his wings
I can shine even in the darkness But I crave the light that he brings
Revel in the songs that he sings, My angel gabriel
I can love, But I need his heart
I am strong even on my own But from him I never want to part
He's been there since the very start, My angel gabriel, My angel gabriel
Bless the day he came to be, Angel's wings carried him to me, Heavenly]

Kind of a little too christian for me but this song is musically so beautiful that I can let it go. :)

For all you Lost fans out there who are as clueless as me:

Song of the day:
Jack's Mannequin - The Mixed Tape

[This is morning, That's when I spend the most time
Thinking 'bout what I've given up
This is a warning, When you start the day just to close the curtains
You're thinking 'bout what I've given up

Where are you now ? As I'm swimming through the stereo
I'm writing you a symphony of sound
Where are you now ? As I rearrange the songs again
This mix could burn a hole in anyone But it was you I was thinking of

I read your letter, The one you left when you broke into my house
Retracing every step you made And you said you meant it
And there's a piece of me in every single Second of every single day
But if it's true then tell me how it got this way

And I can't get to you, I can't get to you, I can't get to you

Where are you now ? As I'm swimming through the stereo
I conduct a symphony of sound
Where are you now ? As I'm cutting through you track by track
I swear to God this mix could sink the sun, But it was you I was thinking of

And this is my mixed tape for her, It's like I wrote every note With my own fingers]

This is a really nice song with a great melody and the guitars and subtle yet neccessary piano harmonize very well. That's all I can say about it, lol. But it's a nice backdrop if you're going for a little walk anyway.

Quote of the day:
"If the world didn't suck we'd all fall off."

Funny...

It's a spoof of a german beer commercial, hilarious !!
  • the original clip

  • I'm gonna post some random music, other bits and bobs I'm in the mood for or stuff that just touches me in some way, everytime I blog. So since today is a beautiful sunny autumn day with a lot of leaves flying around, the piece for today is a small story with some music that's totally appropiate for a day like this !!
Here we go: "Anda Panda - Untitled Short Story With Accompaniment"

[Since certain people ask for it, I will try to put down the lyrics:
--I went to bed in late September, when I woke it was cold in my room. I felt the draft as I walked to the window. Outside the wind howled ferociously. I could see the trees bending and the leaves blowing off the tree. Many leaves had already fallen. "Where is my summer gone ?" I wondered aloud. I quickly brushed my teeth and made my way to the kitchen. "I miss my summer." I said as I reached for the milk.
After breakfast I stepped outside and was greeted by a blast of biting cold ...
"Brr" I exclaimed. "This summer tire just won't do" I said as I retreated back inside to retrieve a scarf and sweater. Ah, here we go, nice and comfy. I hurried side
After work as I walked home though ... and enjoy the view of the changing the season. I still miss my summer. "My, where did the days go ?" I wondered aloud.
As I walked I came upon a ... and a farmer selling apple cider. Apple cider, my favourite. I'll take one jug I said to him. Later that night as I sat in front of my fireplace, drinking warm cider and reading my favourite book once again, I thought: "Oh see here, this fall thing isn't so bad. I'm sure I'll miss it too."--

Alright, this was the best I could do, lol.]
