Velvet Chain - Walk On Water

    Quote Of The Day:
When we contemplate the whole globe as one great dewdrop, striped and dotted with continents and islands, flying through space with other stars all singing and shining together as one, the whole universe appears as an infinite storm of beauty. (John Muir, 'Travels in Alaska')

    Song of the day:

    Song of the day:
    Defiance, Ohio - Petty Problems

Defiance, Ohio, you gotta love a band that plays acoustic country-punk.
I really like this song cause it sort of brings me back to reality when I'm pissed off. It's important to put everything in perspective and realize how good and comfortable our life in an industrial country actually is ! And on a more subtle level how completely stupid a war is but no one cares about it cause we rather indulge ourselves in the commodity wonderland.

    Quote Of The Day:
Poverty is the parent of revolution and crime. (Aristoteles)

Candy Butchers - Bruises And Beautymarks

    Quote Of The Day:
When war becomes literally continuous, it also ceases to be dangerous. When war is continuous there is no such thing as military necessity. Technical progress can cease and the most palpable facts can be denied or disregarded. (George Orwell, '1984')

    I. have. no. words.

    Song of the day:
Tony Sly - On The Outside

    Quote Of The Day:
For any given software, the moment you manage to master it, a new version of that software appears on the market.
    Song Of The Day:
    "Starsailor - Way To Fall"

Wow, today is really dark and windy, so - let's talk about death, shall we ?!
I bet it happened to everyone before, you watch a TV show for some time, the characters grow on you, they almost become a part of your life. They can give you comfort and they make you laugh and sometimes angry. And then he/she dies. I can totally understand that it's powerful drama from the writer's perspective, but I'll approach it from the other side - the audience member.
It's a pretty a shitty feeling because it makes me feel like a sociopath.

The more realistic the situation, the more you're sucked in. And it hurts you more than your own grandmother's death. Weird. The 2 saddest things I watched recently.
    * The L Word: "Losing The Light" (plus "40 Miles From The Sun" by Bush afterwards).
    * Buffy - The Vampire Slayer: "The Body"

    Quote Of The Day:
I don't understand how this all happens. How we go through this. I mean, I knew her, and then she's, there's just a body, and I don't understand why she just can't get back in it and not be dead anymore. It's stupid. It's mortal and stupid. And, and Xander's crying and not talking, and, and I was having fruit punch, and I thought, well, Joyce will never have any more fruit punch ever, and she'll never have eggs, or yawn or brush her hair, not ever, and no one will explain to me why. ('Buffy: The Vampire Slayer - The Body')

    Song of the day:
Kim Richey - Let The Sun Fall Down

    Quote Of The Day:
(Murphy's Law) Any time you put an item in a "safe place", it will never be seen again.

    Song of the day:
    Yellowcard - How I Go

I think this song relates in some way to the movie "Big Fish". The lyrics and the story are very similar, go check it out !!

I could tell you the wildest of tales
My friend the giant and traveling sales
Tell you all the times that I failed
The years all behind me, The stories excelled
And I'm drying out, Crying out, This isn't how I go

I could tell you of a man not so tall
Who said life's a circus and so we are small
Tell you of a girl that I saw
I froze in the moment and she changed it all

And I'm drying out, Crying out, This isn't how I go
Hurry now, Lay me down And let these waters flow...

Son, I am not everything you thought that I would be
But every story I have told is part of me

And you keep the air in my lungs
Floating along as a melody comes
And my heart beats like timpani drums
Keeping the time while a symphony strums

Son I am not everything you thought that I would be
But every story I have told is part of me
Son I leave you now but you have so much more to do
And every story I have told is part of you

    Song of the day:
Sister Hazel - Out There (acoustic)

    Quote Of The Day:
I wonder sometimes about why humans seem on a constant quest to find love and companionship... Like we can't survive all on our own. But we certainly could survive all alone...if we had to. Not as a species but certainly as individuals. Nothing is more frightening than solitude. Maybe that's why we long for companionship. It's not the desire to be with someone, but rather, the fear of being without someone...of being alone ! ('Young Americans' fan fiction - www.whosaiditsover.com)

    Song of the day:

    Quote Of The Day:
Nationalism of one kind or another was the cause of most of the genocide of the twentieth century. Flags are bits of colored cloth that governments use first to shrink-wrap people's brains and then as ceremonial shrouds to bury the dead. (Arundhati Roy)
