Okay. I need to vent on how mind-boggling this Williamson affair that's currently in the news is to me. A christian -love, anyone?- that is full of bitterness and hatred towards the world is very common, but still makes me laugh everytime. Because of the absurdity, cause it isn't funny at all.
And now, take someone who's higher in the hierarchy, someone who is smart (one might assume that is connected) claims that there hasn't been a holocaust in germany and that he needs to "find proof. Which will take time".
Excuse me ? Let that sink in for a moment ! What kind of proof is he looking for ? Does he want to do a spectral analysis on the KZ sites so he can determine if they were actually built before 1945 ? Or does he look for traces of people who didn't actually die but just...moved someplace else ?
This is something that is inconceivable to me. Sure, if some redneck idiot claims there weren't 6 million humans murdered I can blame it on their ignorance. Whatever. But for a bishop, who went to university, to say and mean these things, is utterly ridiculous.
And all this because "the jews want to kick jesus out of christianity" ?
The one conclusion I can come to is, once again: religion is the most disastrous phenomenon on the globe in our age. I can't find anything good about it, it makes me sad.
